Victor Pack Burro Race

Set in the heart of the historic Cripple Creek & Victor Mining District, the Victor Pack Burro Race offers a short but challenging day of Pack Burro Racing. The 7.3-mile course starts and finishes in the heart of Victor on Victor Avenue. The course has 1,100 feet of elevation gain with lots of ups and downs, uneven footing, fantastic views, and passes by historic mine sites. Please be certain to study the course map. While the course is well-marked, there are several intersecting trails and roads along the route. Bib pick-up and day of race registration starts at 10:00 a.m., race begins at 12:00 p.m.

All racers will receive a finishers prize and free lunch.  Cash prizes will be paid out to the top finishers. Special awards will also be given to the Last Ass and Nicest Ass. The awards ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m.

Spectators - stick around for all the activities planned directly following the start of the race. A mini-donkey race will be held for the kids.

After the race start, enter the Poop Pick up Contest - team that picks up the most poop wins! There is a QR code to enter as well.  We will also play "Virtual Donkey Bingo."

The Victor Elks Lodge will be cooking on the porch all afternoon and providing a free meal to all race participants and volunteers. Spectators can purchase a meal at the Elks Lodge as well.

All proceeds (after race costs) from race entry fees go to:

The Victor Elks Lodge 367 to aid in their many benevolent activities and charities and the maintenance and restoration of Victor's premier historic gathering place.

There is plenty of race day parking available. In addition, there are spaces in the Elks/Newmont parking lots for overnight parking of small trucks with trailers/campers, corralling of burros (you must provide your own corral - no human camping), and unlimited overnight camp spaces at the Goldfield Arena.
